Demarcation of Baldia cottage industry, Orangi land ordered


The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered the demarcation of the entire land of the Orangi township and the Baldia Town cottage industry under the supervision of the municipal commissioner and the members of the relevant coordination committee.

The direction came on a petition of Mohammad Ferozuddin Hilaly against the illegal encroachment of the land meant for the Orangi township and the Baldia cottage industry. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) filed a report mentioning that a notification has been issued by the competent authority regarding the illegal encroachment of the land of Orangi Town and the Baldia cottage industry.

The KMC official said that a coordination committee under the chairmanship of the municipal commissioner has been constituted, adding that the body also comprises nine members. The court was informed that the demarcation of the entire land will be carried out to settle the dispute between the revenue department and the KMC.

The KMC official said that after the demarcation, the boundaries of the land used by the Orangi township and the Baldia cottage industry will be properly marked so that the departments concerned takes responsibility of safeguarding their land.

An SHC division bench comprising Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput and Justice Mohammad Faisal Kamal Alam said that considering the importance of these cottage industries that would definitely contribute towards revenue generation for the public exchequer and considerably reduce unemployment, concrete and expeditious decisions are required to be taken.

The bench directed the Karachi administrator, the deputy attorney general and the Sindh advocate general to appear before the court in person on the next date of hearing. The court ordered that the demarcation of the entire subject land be carried out under the supervision of the municipal commissioner and the members of the coordination committee.

The bench directed the survey superintendent to ensure that the demarcation is carried out within the stipulated time, and if any aid or assistance of the law enforcement agencies is required by the municipal commissioner to carry out the requisite task, he may approach the home secretary for the purpose. MUSTAFA KAMAL INAUGURATES DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS IN BALDIA TOWN


City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal on Tuesday inaugurated various development projects in Baldia Town. These projects which have a total cost of over Rs433million includes the construction of 8 roads, 2 family parks, installation of street lights on a major road and completion of cricket stadium in the under construction 27 acres sports complex in Baldia Town. Town Nazim Kamran Akhtar, Naib Town Nazim, elected representatives and officers were also accompanied city nazim at the inauguration of projects. The cricket stadium has been constructed with a cost of Rs50million while the
17.10km roads were supported with storm water drainage system, cat eyes and curve stones.

Talking to media representatives on this occasion City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal said that Baldia Town had been previously considered a less developed town where residents were facing water, sewerage and other problems. Haq Parast leadership has developed this town on modern lines. In order to ensure durability, the underground water and sewerage system was fully rehabilitated before the start of construction of roads and streets. He said that if anyone wants to see the achievements of MQM workers and philosophy of Quaid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain Bhai then he should visit Baldia Town.

Nazim Karachi said that whether it is union council, town or city, Haq Parast Group has presented a good example of team work. Development works have been carried out in each and every area of the city without any discrimination as we thought it our responsibility to solve the problems of everyone.

After the inauguration of cricket stadium City Nazim said that already 8 cricket stadiums have been completed in Karachi under the supervision of Pakistan Cricket Board. He said that these stadiums were being handed over to former test cricketers who would use this facility for training of youths.

City Nazim said that after completion of the project Baldia Town would have a full fledged sports complex with cricket, football and hockey grounds and facilities for holding of indoor games.

Kamran Akhtar inaugurates road built with Rs 6.5 mln

Nazim Baldia Town, Kamran Akhter inaugurated Salahuddin Ayoobi Road built on modern lines with Rs6.5mln at sector D-3, union council no 5 in the town here.Speaking at the inaugural the Town Nazim said this road is constructed after 20 years.He said the construction of the Salahuddin Ayoobi Road was a long-standing demand and problem of the residents, which is, he said the haq parast leadership has resolved. Among other notables, TMO Ather Saeed, TO (MR), Akmal Siddiqi, TO Infrastructure, Waheed Khan Lodhi and DTO Building Mustafa Kamal were also present.

Baldia Town


Baldia Town is a town located in the western part of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan with a population of more than 400,000 at the 1998 census. It is bordered by SITE Town and Orangi to the east and by Kiamari Town to the north and west, with most of the western boundary formed by part of the RCD Highway.
